Dooodle!

Had a moment at work to do this dooodle. I really need to practice using those spiffy Prismacolor markers...

just a tree on a hill

Here is something i just decided to draw up. I setup the laptop on the table then sat back on my couch and painted about 4 feet from my monitor. I want to try and paint more and more like this, it feels more like painting and helps me focus more on just doing and not worrying about layers, brush opacity etc. All done in Photoshop CS. Well, here it is.

Kid In Suit

Here's a sketch from an ad in Vanity Fair. There's something odd and interesting about kids dressed up like adults, which made me want to do the drawing.

Walking in the rain

Here is another thing i did, i was on my lunch break and saw this dude walking in the rain...though it was interesting that he just didn't mind the rain at all. Here is a link to a higher resolution here.

Finished Painting

Here's the painting of the war machine, it was done in cel vinyl and measures about 8x10. When I did the research for the general store in the background, I found alot of photos with random people standing off to the side of the picture's subject, that's why I added the farmer. He happened to be at the store when the machine was photographed and just ended up in the shot. Next up I'm going to do a couple of underwater machines, stay tuned.

Turtle animation

This is a little animation I did after work in Flash MX. I think Flash gets a bad rap sometimes for not being animation friendly. It is probably that Flash does limited animation so well that it gets pegged as a limited animation program. It's not fair. I did this turtle animation to try and push the program farther then I normally do. I had a good time with this little guy.

Two Images

Here are a couple of things. The first is a drawing for an upcoming "Lord of the Rings" themed painting. The other is a comp for a painting of a character I came up with, he's a small town guy in the 1950's who builds war machines to fight what he is convinced is an upcoming war with the Soviet Union.
